MDEV Returns for 2025!
Press Release
The Midwest’s Largest Game Developer Conference, MDEV, Has Expanded
Now Bigger, Bolder, And Longer Than Ever Before.
Madison, WI - May 6th, 2024 - The Wisconsin Games Alliance has announced the 7th annual MDEV, the Midwest’s premier event for gaming industry professionals, is expanding to a two-day show for the first time ever.
This event is open to the public and will take place November 7-8th, 2025, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Early bird ticket pricing is now available for both single-day and two-day passes at www.mdevconf.com.
With attendance growing over 307% since 2022, MDEV continues to serve as a hub for indie and AAA developers, industry professionals, students, and casual gamers. Sponsorship opportunities are available now with more details on MDEVConf.com. Last year's sponsors included companies such as Unity, Raven Software, PUBG Studios, Respawn Entertainment, Lost Boys Interactive, Midwest Games, Wolfjaw Studios, and Xsolla.
“It has been incredible to see the enormous growth of the show over the last few years. We took a giant step forward in 2024 by creating a showcase stage for some key industry speakers, hosting an indie game pitch competition, involving major industry sponsors, and just overall broadening of the show footprint to keep up with attendance” said Ben Kvalo, WGA President, MDEV Executive Chair, and Founder of Midwest Games. “This is just the beginning of a shift towards more accessible and affordable events in overlooked locations with thriving talent. Whether you are just starting out, advancing, or showcasing your career or game company, MDEV is leading this movement forward.”
This event will feature two full days of expert-led panels, speakers, workshops, and networking alongside the opportunity for developers to showcase their games.
“MDEV is a testament to the incredible talent and innovative spirit thriving in the Midwest games scene. It’s inspiring to see how local creators are shaping the future of game development, blending creativity with cutting-edge technology to build amazing games that are played all over the world” said Jennifer Javornik, WGA Board Member and Chief Partnerships Officer at Filament Games. “This event is an opportunity to provide professional development and networking opportunities for game development talent in the Midwest so that we remain competitive in the global game development scene.”
Please note: a virtual ticket option will not be available this year, as efforts are being concentrated on in-person experiences. However, select sessions will be recorded and made available following the conference, and virtual participation will return in future events with a more robust offering.
